GPT Image 2.6 GIF Generation: Brief a Product Loop, Not a Video Ad
Product-ad workflow: A product loop needs a defined motion and a return to its opening state. GPT Image 2.6 documents animated GIF generation, but that does not turn a four-panel static ad into a video, supply a soundtrack or certify a finished placement.

A product loop needs a defined motion and a return to its opening state. GPT Image 2.6 documents animated GIF generation, but that does not turn a four-panel static ad into a video, supply a soundtrack or certify a finished placement.
This article explains how to brief and inspect one small loop using a fictional desk lamp. We did not generate an animation or test the lamp. Panelly has not integrated native 2.6 GIF generation; current Studio output must retain its actual format.
Describe a motion that can close into a loop
Start with a fixed camera and one visible change. For a fictional lamp, the proposed motion is a pool of light brightening gently, then returning to its initial level. The lamp should not move, grow a second arm or acquire a new switch between frames.
The proposed animation does not demonstrate real dimming behavior. If a real product does not support the depicted function, choose a different visual idea. A model can depict an action without establishing that the object can perform it. Write the actual approved claim before writing an engaging motion.
Choose frame count and timing together
The official GIF contract uses output_format gif on generations, not edits. It documents 2–64 frames and 20–2000 milliseconds per frame, rounded to 10 milliseconds. The defaults are 9 frames and 200 milliseconds.
Nine frames at 200 milliseconds give 1.8 seconds by arithmetic. That is a planned nominal duration, not an output measured in this article. At the same duration, changing the frame count also requires changing the timing; simply adding frames can make the loop longer instead of smoother. Size, frame count and number of animations must fit the documented request budget. Do not infer a valid combination from dimensions alone.

This original example was not submitted:
Create a short looping animation of a fictional stationary desk lamp on a plain desk. Use a fixed camera. Let the pool of light gently brighten and return to its initial level while the lamp body remains still. End in the starting state. No text, new switches, moving parts, added products or performance claims. This is a concept animation, not a demonstration of a real lamp's functionality.
Before a real run, specify the authorized subject, approved action and intended destination. A camera move and product movement in the same first experiment make it harder to identify the source of drift. Start with the smallest action you can judge, then retain failures as well as successful loops.
Inspect frames, seam and destination compatibility
Decode the actual GIF and check frame count, dimensions and timing. Watch the boundary from the last frame back to the first. Inspect flicker, object identity, duplicated parts and unintended changes in the background. A pleasing first frame does not establish a usable animation.
GIF is not an MP4 video or a soundtrack container. The documented output does not include streaming, partial images, custom output compression or prompt_rewriter. Destination acceptance is a separate check: verify the real file-type and size requirements where you intend to use it. We make no cross-platform approval or performance claim.
Prepare the static story in Panelly without relabeling it
Use the Brief builder to record the product facts and action. In the four-panel Studio task, plan a static sequence using your authorized product reference and the currently available models. Review the plan and displayed cost before any generation. The result remains one complete static image, not four independent animation frames.
The four-panel versus video-frames guide explains that distinction. A static storyboard can help discuss an idea, but it cannot validate motion, a loop seam, audio or a finished ad video. Keep the planned action and actual file format visible in every handoff; this is the part a new model capability does not decide for you.
