Editorial blank form, correction pen and lamp; not approved eligibility, a trade-in receipt or a generated Aster ad.

A trade-in offer ad should identify the eligible old product, explain what the credit can buy and say when that credit becomes available. Put the inspection condition beside the amount. “Get USD 20” can sound like cash or an already approved discount when the actual offer is a conditional reduction in a new product's price.

This worked example promotes a fictional navy Aster Daypack to owners of an Aster Mini. The shop accepts one qualifying Mini after staff inspection, then applies USD 20 toward one new Daypack. We ran Panelly's current Brief formatter locally and retained the complete input, actual output and input-file roundtrip. No valuation, shop transaction, photo upload or ad generation was performed. The small-business creative ideas pillar covers broader creative choices; this article addresses the conditional exchange.

State what qualifies before announcing the credit

Name the old model and its required condition before choosing a headline. Our invented program accepts only an Aster Mini whose zipper closes and whose two shoulder straps are present. Other models and brands are excluded. Staff must inspect and accept the old bag. That is a supplied rule for this example, not a universal definition of a usable bag.

Confirmed in the fictional briefWhat remains unknown
One Aster Mini; closing zipper and both shoulder strapsWhether any individual customer's bag will pass inspection
USD 20 toward one new Aster Daypack after acceptanceNew bag price, final amount due, tax and other charges
Old bag is handed over; one credit per new bagShop location, operating times, stock and program end date
Credit reduces the new bag price; not cashWhether other promotions can be combined

The O My Bag FAQ separates eligible items, condition and benefit timing in its own program. Use that separation as a reading check, not as terms to copy. Its countries, materials and gift-card rules do not become your offer. Ask the merchant for missing facts before real publication. An empty deadline field should remain empty rather than become “this weekend only.”

Write three ad lines for different reader questions

Choose one direction for the first composition. These are original editorial alternatives using the same invented facts, not tested winners or customer campaigns. Keep the eligibility and inspection qualification close to each opening.

Lead with the eligible owner

“Own an Aster Mini? Check your trade-in.” A Mini with a closing zipper and both shoulder straps may qualify for staff inspection. After acceptance, USD 20 applies toward one new Daypack. Action: Check trade-in eligibility.

Lead with the credit's purpose

“USD 20 toward your next Aster Daypack.” Trade in one qualifying Aster Mini after staff inspection and acceptance. One credit per new bag; not cash. Action: View trade-in details.

Lead with the exchange

“Hand over a qualifying Mini. Put the credit toward a Daypack.” The old bag goes to the shop; the credit reduces the new bag price after acceptance. Action: Check the requirements.

The first direction is useful when readers may not know which old model is accepted. The second needs the condition visible near the number, not relegated to a cropped footer. The third explains what leaves the customer's possession. None says a particular bag has been approved. Avoid a mock “accepted” stamp or a completed account screen that contradicts the inquiry-level action.

Keep the credit separate from cash and product price

Say what the amount does. A USD 20 credit toward a new bag is neither a USD 20 new-bag price nor USD 20 paid to the customer. Without the actual new price and applicable charges, this brief cannot calculate a checkout total or percentage saving. It also cannot call the old bag's resale value USD 20.

An original trade-in question describes confusion about when a benefit is applied. It is one historical buyer account with conflicting channel information, not current brand policy or a measure of how often customers are confused. The practical check is whether your amount describes a later credit, a payment today or something else.

Apple's trade-in explanation distinguishes an estimate from verification after receipt. That distinction belongs to its process; it does not validate Aster's offer. The merchant O My Bag's program page also separates exchange from shopping. Neither example proves that Panelly values products, approves exchanges or connects to a store's credit system. The existing digital gift-card example addresses purchased stored value, a different transaction.

Build a promotion Brief and inspect the actual text

Use Promotion in the Brief builder. Put qualification and acceptance in Approved message, and put the conditional amount in Offer. Repeating the condition there prevents a short offer line from silently becoming unconditional. The general Brief examples explain the fields; the formatter produces editable template text, not an appraisal or an AI-generated image.

These lines are an exact excerpt of the real English formatter output. All Aster facts remain fictional:

Product: Fictional Aster Daypack, navy; new backpack promoted to existing Aster Mini owners
Goal: Promotion
Approved message: Trade in one Aster Mini with a closing zipper and both shoulder straps. Store staff must inspect and accept it before a USD 20 credit applies toward one new Aster Daypack. One credit per new bag. The old bag is handed over; credit reduces the new bag price, not a cash payment. Other models and brands excluded.
Call to action: Check trade-in eligibility
Offer: USD 20 toward one new Aster Daypack after staff inspection and acceptance of one qualifying Aster Mini; not cash.
Deadline: None supplied. Do not invent urgency or a deadline.
Deliverable: One complete static 2×2 four-panel image; 3:4 overall aspect ratio.

We saved the input JSON, parsed it and recompiled it to the identical complete output. This checks text handling, not eligibility. Save inputs if someone needs to continue the fields; download the edited result as text if you need its manual changes. Loading an input file does not automatically rebuild or send the result to Studio. Read the output again after changing the offer, especially when an old condition may still be present in the approved message.

Request one four-panel concept for the new product

Open the four-panel Studio task. Attach one authorized photo of the actual new Daypack, review the plan and displayed credit cost, and explicitly confirm generation only when intended. The following request is illustrative and was not sent:

@image1 is my actual new navy Aster Daypack. Create one complete static 2×2 four-panel product ad, 3:4 overall, for existing Aster Mini owners. Fictional terms: trade in one Aster Mini whose zipper closes and both shoulder straps are present. Staff must inspect and accept it before USD 20 credit applies toward one new Daypack. One credit per new bag; old bag handed over; not cash. Other models and brands excluded. Frame 1: show the new Daypack with “Own an Aster Mini?” Frame 2: keep the new product visible and explain the old-model requirements in text only. Do not invent the appearance of the Mini. Frame 3: “USD 20 toward one new Aster Daypack” beside “After staff inspection and acceptance · Not cash”. Frame 4: “Check trade-in eligibility”. Do not add approval, price, saving percentage, cash payout, deadline, location, stock, shipping, tax, stacking or environmental claims. No approved-customer stamp or account screenshot. Leave space to correct wording manually.

The four-panel use case delivers one whole image, not four carousel files, layers or a video. A single new-product reference does not supply the old model's appearance. A generated concept cannot document condition or acceptance. Select a result and use Mention and refine for a specific refinement, then compare the entire new version. Exact labels, unchanged pixels and changes limited to one frame are not guaranteed.

Check the exported conditions and the real next step

Follow the intended action to the actual eligibility page or contact flow. Does it name the same model and condition? Does it say who inspects the item and when the benefit applies? A submitted form is not an approval. A product picture is not a working eligibility checker. Use the message-match checklist to compare the ad with the destination before using either copy or artwork.

The image resizer can reveal a crop that removes “after acceptance.” The image compressor compares actual JPEG/WebP bytes; meeting the budget does not prove the qualification is readable. Review amount, currency, model, conditions and action in the downloaded file. Our cover's blank form, correction pen and lamp are an editorial concept, not an approved eligibility form, a trade-in receipt or a generated Aster ad.

Bring your confirmed exchange terms and one safe new-product reference to Studio. The next task is a bounded static concept whose credit condition remains as clear as its headline.
