Editorial gift-set image: a coffee pouch, cup, scoop and open box on terracotta; not the fictional River paper box, its current contents or a generated subscription ad.

A subscription box ad should name the recurring purchase, connect the price to its billing period, and explain whether the pictured contents belong to this box or every future delivery. Put those facts near the action. An attractive open box can explain what arrives without explaining what the buyer is agreeing to buy again.

The worked example here is a fictional River paper-craft box. This month's box contains three patterned paper sheets and one project guide. The example price is $24 USD per box, billed monthly with automatic renewal; contents change each month. These are invented planning inputs, not a merchant offer or a checkout we tested. We ran Panelly's current Brief formatter locally and retained its real text output. No product photo was uploaded and no ad image was generated. For the broader creative task, start with small-business advertising ideas.

Decide which purchase the ad is inviting

Write the purchase type before choosing an unboxing headline. A recurring plan, a prepaid fixed term and a single box can all use the same packaging photograph, yet ask for different commitments. Only advertise the option that actually exists at the destination.

Purchase typeWhat the ad needs to distinguishWhat not to assume
Recurring planPrice basis, billing frequency and renewalThat “one box” means one charge
Prepaid fixed termTotal price, number of deliveries and what happens afterwardThat paying once means it never renews
Single boxThe exact one-off product and matching purchase optionThat a gift message removes recurring billing

Our example uses only the first row. We have not confirmed a one-off gift option, a prepaid plan or cancellation terms. A gift-minded buyer should inspect the actual plan, not be sent to a made-up “buy once” button.

This is a practical communication distinction. In an original subscription-box community discussion, buyers described confusion over one-time and recurring options. Those old, conflicting accounts do not establish what a merchant currently does. They help identify the question an ad and its destination must answer.

Write the price line with its time unit

A bare “$24” can be read as the total price for everything pictured. For the fictional monthly plan, keep “per box,” “billed monthly” and “automatically renews” together. Shipping and tax amounts are not supplied, so we cannot call this a delivered total or promise free shipping.

Separate billing from dispatch and arrival. A monthly charge does not prove that the box leaves on a particular date or arrives every thirty days. Shopify's subscription checkout guidance describes delivery-frequency information and a subscription agreement in its own checkout. Check the real selling plan and checkout used by your store; Panelly does not read or configure them.

Here are three original copy directions for the same hypothetical offer. They are alternatives to brief and review, not measured winners or three automatically generated campaigns.

DirectionOpening and qualificationNext action
Make a regular project“A paper project each month.” $24 USD per box, billed monthly. Automatically renews.View plan and renewal details

Help a gift-minded buyer“Buying for someone else?” This is a recurring monthly plan; a one-off gift option is not confirmed in this example.Check the plan before choosing a gift

Do not attach “cancel anytime” to all three just because it sounds reassuring. Without the actual rule, it is another invented product benefit. The same applies to savings, retail-value totals and a first-box discount. If those facts are unknown, leave the claim out and point to the real plan details.

Keep this month's box separate from future promises

Label the photographed edition. If this month's paper patterns are shown, do not promise that every later box contains those exact patterns. “Contents vary” does not repair an image that repeatedly presents a specific accessory as guaranteed in every delivery.

Use the bundle-photography guide for the separate job of counting included objects and distinguishing styling props. It already covers fixed and configurable sets. Here the extra question is time: which delivery does the picture represent, and what remains true across renewals?

A static four-panel composition can carry that distinction without becoming a calendar of four future shipments. Introduce the current box, show one visible paper detail, state the monthly-plan facts, and close with the plan-details action. Repeated views of one box are views, not four boxes in an order. Do not fabricate future editions, customer unboxing reactions or screenshots of cancellation controls.

Build a brief from the confirmed plan fields

The Brief Builder organizes supplied text into an editable template. It does not verify a price, read billing settings, generate an image or transfer the result to Studio. We used its current compiler locally for this exercise; this was not a new production form session.

Five exact lines from the actual English formatter output follow. The complete raw input and output are retained with the manuscript. Supplied facts remain hypothetical even when software formats them correctly.

Product: Fictional River paper-craft box; this month has three patterned paper sheets and one project guide. Contents change by month.
Approved message: A paper project each month. $24 USD per box, billed monthly. Automatically renews. Pictured contents are this month only.
Visual direction: One static four-panel ad: current box, paper detail, recurring-plan facts, and a link to plan and renewal details. Keep monthly billing next to the action.
Call to action: View plan and renewal details.
Deliverable: One complete static 2×2 four-panel image; 3:4 overall aspect ratio.

The product-discovery goal leaves its Offer line as not requested. The monthly price appears because we supplied it in Approved message; do not assume an unused offer field will be carried into the request.

Read the complete editable output, including the exclusions. The brief checklist helps check missing decisions. Replace the fictional facts and choose one message direction before bringing the text into Studio yourself.

Bring one current-box reference and a complete request

Open the four-panel Studio task and attach one real current-box photograph you can use. Inspect the proposed plan and displayed credit cost; explicitly confirm generation only when you intend to run it. This illustrative request was not sent to a provider:

Create one complete static 2×2 product ad concept, 3:4 overall, for the fictional River paper-craft subscription box.
Facts: this month contains three patterned paper sheets and one project guide. Contents change monthly. Example price: $24 USD per box, billed monthly, automatically renewing.
Use: “A paper project each month.” “$24 USD per box · billed monthly · automatically renews.” “Pictured contents: this month only.” “View plan and renewal details.”
Top left: one current box. Top right: a visible paper detail from the one reference photo I attach. Bottom left: the recurring-plan facts. Bottom right: the action with the same monthly-billing qualification.
Do not invent future contents, free shipping, cancellation terms, delivery dates, a discount, a one-time gift option, customer testimony or a checkout screen. Do not show four boxes as the purchase quantity.
Deliver one complete static image, not carousel files, a video or editable layers. Replace all fictional details before real use.

The four-panel use case explains the complete-image output. A reference does not guarantee correct labels, counts or preserved pixels. Compare the whole result against the real box and approved wording. After a refinement, inspect all four panels again, including areas you did not request to change. A fake checkout or satisfied-customer scene is not evidence of a working subscription or a real testimonial.

Follow the plan through export and the destination

Use the local resizer and cropper to compare crop and fit at the required pixel dimensions. A crop may remove “billed monthly”; fitting may make it too small. If the destination accepts the format, the image compressor compares actual JPEG/WebP bytes. Meeting a byte target does not prove that renewal wording is legible. Inspect the downloaded file at its intended display size.

Then follow the advertised action. Does the page select the same plan, explain its actual recurring amount and delivery arrangement, and show the corresponding current box? Check the real shipping charges and cancellation information there. A generic shop homepage is a poor handoff if readers cannot find the advertised plan. The ad-to-page message check gives a broader comparison method.

This workflow plans creative; it does not set up subscriptions, authorize charges, synchronize inventory, validate checkout terms or publish ads. Start with verified plan facts in the Brief Builder, then take the reviewed text and actual current-box reference to Studio. Keep the recurring purchase understandable all the way to that next decision.
